Location and how to get

The conference will be held at LUCA School of Arts, campus Lemmens. The school is located on one of the highest points of Leuven and can be reached easily by the transportation method of your choice. If you choose to come by car, the campus has an extensive parking lot where you can park for free. 

From the airport: 

There are two major airports in Belgium, Brussels Zaventem Airport (20km from Leuven) and Charleroi Airport (81 km from Leuven) 

By train: From Zaventem Airport trains run regularly throughout the day. Direct trains take 15 minutes to reach Leuven and run  twice per hour. Train tickets can be bought on site at the train station or online. More information can be found on the NMBS website.

When coming from Charleroi Airport, you will have to take a combination of bus and train to reach Leuven. More info can be found on this page on the NMBS website.


By bus: Taking the bus is also an option when travelling from Zaventem Airport. If you wish to travel by bus, take bus 315 by De Lijn at either the airport itself or at the train station of Brussel Noord. The journey takes around 45 minutes to an hour, depending on traffic.

From the train station:

By bus: The Campus can be accessed easily by bus. The bus journey takes about 15 minutes. Buses going from the train station to the campus are the following numbers: 380, 371, 3, 370, 333, 317, 380, 335. By taxi: Regular taxis are located in front of the train station. The taxi ride takes about 7 minutes. You can easily book a taxi at or

By bike: You can rent a bike at the station and keep it for 3 days. It takes approximately 12 minutes to get from the train station to the campus by bike. Check to secure your bike for the duration of the conference.

Staying in Leuven

Leuven has a wide variety of places where you can stay for the duration of the conference. There is a choice for every budget.

As one of Belgium’s leading university cities, a broad spectrum of cultural and culinary experiences can be found among its picturesque cobblestone streets. Be sure to try out some of Belgian’s finest products such as beers, chocolates and fries when you’re out on the town after a day well  spent at the conference!
